Big and Small Estate Gifts Alike Have a Huge Impact On HCHC

Henry County Health Center Foundation has recently made some significant donations to the Henry County Health Center that are the direct result of planned gifts. You may not see these donations, but it is important to "see" how transformational planned giving can be.

Within the last quarter, HCHC Foundation bought a specialized borescope for the surgical services department. This is a necessary instrument used to inspect and maintain the integrity of mechanical surgical tools. This borescope is rarely seen by patients, but it is used daily at HCHC and was purchased with money compassionately provided by an estate gift.

Thousands of blood tests are processed each month within the isolated confines of the HCHC Lab. Certain compounds are used to perform the tests and these mixtures must be held at a certain temperature to assure accuracy. When the HCHC Lab indicated they needed a new specialized refrigerator that guarantees this temperature, HCHC Foundation was happy to deliver—using a gift from a generous donor's estate.

When people think of HCHC, rarely do they think of the maintenance department. Their responsibilities are often performed behind the scenes, caring for heating and cooling units, ensuring the safety of electrical gear, repairing and maintaining commonly used equipment, maintaining campus grounds and performing a host of other discrete duties both inside and outside the health center. To support this hard-working department, HCHC Foundation used planned gifts to purchase a new maintenance truck that also includes a front-mounted blade for pushing snow off the health center parking lots.

HCHC Foundation is extremely grateful to the growing number of people who choose to hold HCHC close to their hearts. There are wonderful donors who make meaningful gifts year after year. However, if you would like to leave behind a legacy, no matter what size, please know it will be transformational in ways that may not always be seen, but will always make a huge impact.
